Arsenal: Battered, Bruised and on the brink of elimination

Arsenal were taught a huge football lesson yesterday as the mighty Bayern Munich eviscerated the team 5-1 at the Allianz Arena yesterday. Arsenal won the first leg 2-0 which was Bayern's first and only defeat so far this season. The defeat really hurt the Bavarians as they came out like a house on fire. Lewandowski opened the scoring, Muller doubled the lead, Alaba made it 3 and Arjen Robben
came on and continued his personal vendetta against Arsenal as he scored with his very first touch of the game just 37 seconds after coming on. Arsenal grabbed a consolation goal with a spectacular chest and volley from Giroud but their fate was sealed as Thomas Muller passed the ball in the net to round off an emphatic victory. The victory now leaves Bayern at the brink of qualification while it leaves Arsenal at the very brink of elimination from the group stage for the first time since Wenger took over in 1996.
