Chelsea desperately need a striker to turn around their poor season performances and score more goals. The question on everyones lips is, "who will Jose buy in January"
According to sportsmail, there are some contenders Chelsea scouts are considering, these include;
MARIO GOMEZ

Fiorentina
The 30-year-old Germany international has struggled at
Fiorentina but has returned to his old scoring form while on loan at Besiktas.
They have an option to buy at the end of the season and are
interested but financing the overall deal for Gomez is not easy due to his
large salary.
Fiorentina would sell in January if they could find a
willing buyer but age and injury record goes against him.
GONZALO HIGUAIN

Napoli
The stand-out candidate, Higuain is a high calibre finisher,
has great experience and is well known to Mourinho.
He has been in rich scoring form for Napoli this season, who
are just four points off the Serie A leaders, and they would be reluctant to
let him go.
President Aurelio de Laurentiis says it would cost
£65million and the player's brother says he wants to help Napoli push for the
Scudetto.
PACO ALCACER

| Paco Alcacer |
Valencia
The 22-year-old has been watched by Chelsea this season but
is still considered a work in progress.
Physically, he would struggle to lead the line for Chelsea
the way Mourinho likes and is still short of top level quality.
Though he has played for Spain, his goals have come against
lower ranking opposition. Valencia would sell but Chelsea need better to solve
their problems.
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN

| Antoine Griezmann |
Atletico Madrid
Griezmann signed a new contract at Atletico in the summer
which raised his release clause to £47milllion.
Chelsea are big admirers of the fleet-footed Frenchman and
have considered bids before.
He remains on their list but would be cup-tied for the
Champions League and is not keen on leaving Atletico mid-season. The likelihood
of a summer bid seems greater at this stage.
BAYE OUMAR NIASSE

Lokomotiv Moscow
Fast and strong, the Senegal international has been
impressing in the Europa League and in Russia for his club Lokomotiv.
The 25-year-old has scored 11 goals in 16 games this season
and Chelsea had a scout in the stands during the recent 1-1 draw with Besiktas
when he scored Lokomotiv's equaliser.
He cost Lokomotiv just £3.5m and they would be open to
making a big profit. Would be a gamble but has similarities to a young Didier
Drogba.
