Roger Federer defeated long time arch rival Rafael Nadal in a hardly contested 3 set match to win a
record 7th title in his home town, Basel. He captured the first set 6-3 but Nadal came fighting back as he has done all week and won the 2nd set 7-5. Federer, with the home crowd behind him, fought back and captured the set to end a gripping contest 6-3, 5-7, 6-3. Its his first victory over Nadal since March 2012.
