Liverpool no longer interested in Bayern midfielder Mario Gotze

Gotze was strongly linked with a move to Anfield earlier in the summer and all signs pointed towards a reunion with Jurgen Klopp on Merseyside.

  • Liverpool reportedly not interested in Mario Gotze anymore
  • Player closely linked to reunite with former manager Klopp
  • Tottenham now tipped to be interested in midfielder
There was plenty of talk and indications that Bayern did want the attacking midfielder to leave, but there looks likely to be no romantic reunion with Klopp, the man who gave him his debut at Borussia Dortmund.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds are no longer in the race to sign Gotze as Klopp is now happy with his attacking options after securing the £30 million signing of Sadio Mane.

Prior to the European Championships in France this summer, Gotze paid a visit to Merseyside where it’s believed he was shown around Liverpool’s training ground before indicating his desire not to join the Reds.

This weekend, Gotze’s future has been discussed in the media yet against with Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund now both vying for his signature.

The German midfielder could be sold for as little as £20m with Bayern keen to sell him after recently acquiring Renato Sanches from Benfica, adding yet more talent to an already packed attacking department.
