Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is hoping for a shock return
to Chelsea this summer, as he tries to force his way out of Goodison Park.
According to The Sun, the 23-year-old has previously made it
clear that he wants to join a Champions League outfit, after proving his worth
with the Toffees in the past two seasons, since joining the club from the Blues
for £28 million.
And although Chelsea will not compete in Europe at all this
season, after an abysmal campaign that saw the west London club finish 10th in
the Premier League, the Belgium international is keen for a second spell at
Stamford Bridge.
Reportedly, Lukaku told friends that he had unfinished
business at Chelsea after failing to make himself a regular in the Blues's
starting XI. But he now believes he can force his way into new boss Antonio
Conte's plans.
Lukaku was one of few Everton players whose performances
stood out last season, as the Toffees finished 11th in a campaign which
culminated in Roberto Martinez being sacked as manager.
