Former Tottenham and current Hull pair Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore were attempting to persuade the Tottenham midfielder to join them following the arrival of Victor Wanyama at White Hart Lane last week according to Football Insider.
Steve Bruce has revealed that Hull are keeping close tabs on Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason.
In an interview with BBC, via the London Evening Standard, Bruce said he is unaware what Mason’s plans are but confirmed he has an interest in the player.
Bruce told the BBC:
“I don’t know if he’s available,”
“But if he did
become available then he’s the sort of player who would interest us.
“But again for me its always difficult to talk about other players,
in contract, because I’ve had no communication with Spurs at all.
Mauricio Pochettino signed Victor Wanyama for £11million last month, leaving Mason even further down the pecking order at White Hart Lane.
The report has also linked Stoke and Borussia Dortmund with a possible move for the former Millwall loanee.
Mason featured 22 times in the Premier League for Tottenham in 2015-16 but was mainly used as a substitute, coming off the bench on 14 occasions.
The Spurs man ailed to produce much in the attacking third, scoring just two goals and failing to provide a single assist all season.
The player still has four years left on his current deal under Pochettino but a move away from north London could prove to be mutually beneficial to both the player and the club.
