Sunderland have moved to replace Sam Allardyce with former
Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes.
Moyes, whose last coaching role was in charge of Real
Sociedad, has agreed a four-year-contract.
Allardyce this week agreed to become England manager on a
two-year deal.
Speaking on the Sunderland web site, Moyes said he is made up
to be in position at the Stadium of Light:
“I am delighted to have joined Sunderland. I am relishing
the challenge and opportunity.
“I have taken over a great British club with great support
and cannot wait to be back in the Premier League.”
