Ander Herrera's Manchester United career so far has always
shown promise, without much actual substance.
The baby-faced Spaniard has made 80 appearances for the Red
Devils since joining in 2014 but has been unable to nail down a regular
starting XI place for any considerable length of time.
But with Jose Mourinho now at the helm, Herrera has revealed
he will play a slightly different role at Old Trafford this season.
Herrera celebrated his 27th birthday with a fine opening day
performance against Bournemouth. Playing alongside Marouane Fellaini, he sat
deeper than usual and acted as the team's main anchor to link up the play.
As you would expect with a Mourinho side, this was no
accident and the former Athletic Bilbao star admitted he had agreed to take up
a more defensive position after a conversation with the manager.
