Zenit St. Petersburg manager Mircea Lucescu believes there is
no difference between Axel Witsel and £100 million Manchester United target
Paul Pogba.
Pogba is expected to complete a world-record transfer to Old
Trafford with a deal almost agreed between Juventus and the Red Devils.

The Frenchman has developed into one of the best midfielder
in the world over the past four years in Turin and he’s set to become the most
expensive player in the history of the game.
However, Lucescu believes he has someone of comparable
quality in his ranks, as the former Shakhtar Donetsk boss thinks Axel Witsel is
just as good as Pogba.
“I do not see differences between Witsel and Pogba except,
perhaps, their age,” Lucescu told Gazzetta.
“At the last European Championships, the Frenchman lacked a
bit of experience in adapting to a new environment, which Witsel didn’t.”
Witsel and Pogba took part in the European Championships this
season and, while neither player lifted the famous trophy, the Frenchman
definitely came the closest.

Belgium were defeated in the quarter-finals by Wales, despite
being one of the tournament favourites, and Portugal went on to win the whole thing.
They beat Pogba’s France in the final at the Stade de France
as the host nation struggled to overcome their nerves to triumph on their own
soil.
