Everton trump Sunderland in 8 goal thriller

Everton produced a ruthless attacking display to dispatch Sunderland 6-2 at Goodison Park yesterday. Former Barcelona winger Gerrard Deulofeu opened the scoring and Kone doubled the lead with a
well hit left foot strike. Jermain Defoe grabbed one back for Sunderland at the stroke of half time and Steven Fletcher leveled up at 2-2 early in the 2nd half. Then from  there it became a nightmare for Sunderland as all their defensive frailties were exposed. An own goal put Everton back ahead and a Lukaku finish after rounding the keeper made it 4-2. Then it was the Kone show. He made it 5-2 after finishing of a blistering counter attack from Everton before finishing it up with a brilliant header via a Lukaku assist to complete his first premier league hat trick. Sunderland have a lot to ponder as the 3-0 derby win over Newcastle has already been forgotten just a week later. Sam Allardyce would have to sort out their defensive problems and fast if they are going to survive the drop this season.
