SWANSEA City have opened negotiations with Stephen Kingsley as they bid to tie him to a new long-term contract.
The promising left-back has just a year to run on his current Liberty deal.
And Swansea are keen to ensure Kingsley
will be sticking around after he produced a string of impressive
displays when given opportunities at the back-end of last season.
"I have started discussions aimed at
sorting out a new contract for Stephen," Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins
told the Evening Post.
Kingsley had to bide his time after
joining Swansea from a Scottish second-tier side Falkirk back in 2014
for an undisclosed fee which was thought to be as little as £350,000.
The 21-year-old had loan spells at Yeovil Town and Crewe Alexandra before making his Swansea debut as a substitute in the bleak FA Cup defeat at Oxford United back in January.
