Uefa named French forward and tournament top scorer Antoine Griezmann as the best player of Euro 2016, a day after the hosts' 1-0 final defeat to Portugal.
The Uefa chief technical officer Ioan Lupescu, who led the panel that picked the striker said;
"Antoine Griezmann was a threat in every game he played. He works hard for his team and possesses technique, vision and quality finishing,"
"The technical observers were in unanimous agreement that he was the tournament's outstanding player."
UEFA announced that the 25-year-old has been voted as the winner by their team of 13 technical observers, which includes Sir Alex Ferguson and David Moyes.
Griezmann came into Sunday's final having scored five in his last three appearances for Les Bleus, including braces against Germany and the Republic of Ireland as well as a single strike in the 5-2 drubbing of Iceland.
Griezmann's tally was the highest number of goals a player has scored at the UEFA European Championship since Michel Platini netted nine at Euro 1984.
