Egyptian wonderkid seen with British ambassador in Cairo

Sobhi has been linked strongly with a move to Stoke City, who could pay up to £5.5m for his services once potential add-ons and bonuses are factored in to the deal.

Al-Ahly's teenage superstar Ramadan Sobhi was spotted in Cairo's United Kingdom embassy, as speculation over a move to the Premier League heightens.

The 19-year-old Egypt international was accompanied by the British ambassador in Cairo as he applied for a work permit, with Stoke reported to be interested in signing him.

The 19-year-old forward was snapped as he applied for a UK work permit, accompanied by the nation's ambassador in Egypt John Casson.

While the youngster would not qualify for a work permit under the rules established by the UK regarding international appearances, he could receive permission under 'special dispensation' for talented players, although it is unlikely.
