Victor Anichebe is available on a free transfer after being
released from West Brom this summer, and could be exactly what Birmingham need.
The Nigerian international, 28, could act as a fantastic
focal point of the Blues attack.
He is a wonderful target man who, with his
imposing physique and substantial strength, can provide a useful outlet for his
defence when they are under pressure.
Anichebe has never been the most prolific of goal scorers,
but more than half of his appearances throughout his career have been as a
substitute, and if he was to be given a regular starting role, he would surely
become more clinical.
With Birmingham's need for a striker, and the former Everton
marksman being available on a free, it seems to be a no-brainer for the Blues.
It would be a move that would involve little financial risk
for the club, but one that could pay huge dividends next season.
