American Swimmer Ryan Lotche Apologizes For Lying About Being Robbed




US swimmer Ryan Lochte has apologised for his behaviour in Rio and "for not being more careful and candid".

The gold medallist had claimed that he and a group of fellow US swimmers had been robbed at a petrol station.

But CCTV footage contradicted that story, showing the men had vandalised the petrol station after partying.

Mr Lochte tweeted:

The 31-year-old, who plays right-back for Arsenal, made her England debut in 2004 and has since been capped 134 times.

Scott intends to give football one more year before reaching a final decision, and hopes the tournament in Holland next summer will see her land an elusive title in the international game.


"I'm making sure I leave no stone unturned and the only thing that's missing from my trophy cabinet is that gold medal, so that's the big aim over the next year," Scott said. 

"Then I'll sit down and evaluate and see what happens."

Celtic To Face UEFA Sanctions Over Palestine Flag




UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Celtic after some supporters displayed Palestine flags during their Champions League qualifier against Israeli side Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

The Parkhead club have been punished eight times in five seasons by the European governing body for supporter misconduct and face further sanctions when the case is dealt with on September 22.

A statement on UEFA's official website confirmed the "illicit banner" charges, which pertain to Article 16 (2) of the UEFA disciplinary regulations.

"God Will Fight My Fight For Me" - Nigerian Player Axed From Rio Speaks Out




One of Nigeria's footballers sent back to Nigeria from Rio de Janeiro after they were told by Nigerian Football officials that their feeding and living expenses can no longer be catered, has lamented how they were thrown out of the team’s hotel and had to spend their own money to pay for the two nights they spent in Brazil before coming back to Nigeria.

The Nigerian Football Federation ordered two alternate players Stanley Dimgba and Yusuf Mohammed as well as several unnecessary officials to head back to Nigeria as they could no longer be catered for, and one of the players who prefers to remain anonymous has now cried out.

Arsenals Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey is set to miss his side's next two Premier League matches with a hamstring injury, according to British newspaper reports.

Ramsey, 25, suffered the problem in the second half of Arsenal's 4-3 loss to Liverpool on Sunday, adding to manager Arsene Wenger's injury concerns.
