Manchester United scrape past CSKA Moscow

Manchester United secured a crucial victory against CSKA Moscow last night to boost their chances of qualifying to the next stage. United have been criticized for failing to find the back of the net in their last 3 games after three goalless draws. United struggled in front of goal again as they failed to penetrate through a resolute CSKA Moscow defense until very late in the game. United were 11 mins
away from yet another 0-0 before captain Wayne Rooney stepped up with a bullet header to down Moscow. Carrick produced a sensational pass to Jese Lingaard who then crossed and set up for Rooney on a plate to fire home. This is Wayne Rooney's biggest goal and ultimately biggest contribution to Manchester United this season. It will ease some of the pressure off his shoulders. The victory takes United to the top of the group and now they only need one win from their last two games against PSV and Wolfsburg to secure qualification.
